DESIGNING AN ATTIC ROOM

Converting your attic (or loft) into space that  is habitable means your family has moreroom and it also increases the value of your home financially.

Your attic may be abedroom for guests or for a member of your family, it may be a family room or home office. But whatever room you choose to create be sure it has great designstyle, even if the room is quite small.

Making good use of thespace in your attic room is important so your design theme must be unclutteredand light. You can try a ‘minimalist’ interior design theme which will make theroom look more spacious, or just a simple contemporary style. Or perhaps asimple cozy, comfortable space.

If you desire adecorating style that looks great and enhances your life, consider employingthe ideas of Feng Shui. (Refer to my previous posts on Feng Shui). Arrangefurniture away from your doorways, since you’d be surprised to discover howmuch straightforward access to and from a room could make it feel larger. Alarge mirror can also increase the look and feel of the size.

Small or medium sizedfurniture is your best bet when decorating a small attic room. (Refer to my previous posts on scale and proportion).

When painting your newroom consider white, ivory, taupe or light grey. (Refer to my previous post onlightening up a room or choosing a color palette). You may also want to consider amonochromatic room to increase the feel of it’s size. (Refer to my post ondesigning in monochromatics).

Just because your attic room iscozy doesn’t mean it can’t acquire an interesting interior design style; itfundamentally requires a little creativity and imagination.

INTERIOR DESIGN IDEAS IN GRAY

Gray adds subtle sophistication toany space. Use it as a neutral to let a bright color shine or do a whole roomin gray for a soothing retreat. Capture a contemporary look by using a graycolor scheme or add it to your favorite color scheme.

In many design circles, gray is thenew white—and has been for a while. It’s a more elegant neutral that givesdepth to subtle colors and makes bold tones pop (rather than shout). Butgetting gray right can be tricky: the “temperature” of a particular shade—cool orwarm—can evoke very different feelings and have an enormous impact on the moodof a room. There are many, many shades of gray, so, choose wisely.

There is also a trend ingray woods. Country rustic cottage oak is a wire brushed finish with a slightmetallic hint. It can be used on wood walls, floors or furniture.

Living room designs in gray can bequite fun and elegant with the right pop of color. The color gray is neutraland with a bright accent color can be a good choice of color for any home.

All of these pictures show just howbeautiful gray looks when used with the right colors and is perfect for a modernclassy look. It is a beautiful neutral shade which looks great with darkershades or even lighter shades of gray for a monochromatic feel, or as a base like ivoryor white.  Gray can create a chicelegant space.
